Technological and Scientific Developments during WWI
Module Info
Scientists like Clara Immerwahr faced a moral dilemma 100 years ago, when their work contributed to the industrial mass slaughter of hundreds and thousands of young men during WWI. Chemical warfare with disabling chemicals (such as tear gas) or lethal agents (like mustard gas) was a horrible reality during this first global war and has since become commonplace.
Registration Details
Students interested in Chemistry, History, Modern Politics, Ethics or Pedagogy are welcome to join our Erasmus club and prepare for a creative workshop week in Rotterdam from 5 March – 12 March 2017, during which a film documentary will be produced about the continuing impact of WWI’s technological and scientific developments.
