Memorials in the city centre of Essen

Since the end of WWII, Nazi atrocities have been part of the German collective memory. Memorials in Essen remind us of this dark chapter in our history. Together with Mr Boergen and Ms Heup, students in Year 10 visited some historical places in the city centre and produced a video guide about what must not be forgotten: the fate of those who suffered under the Nazi regime. With only very few eye-witnesses left to tell the story, it is the students now who try to make us (re)discover our city’s past…
