Erasmus Presentation on Historical Milestones 1918 – 2018

The path to peace and mutual understanding is often stony. The end of the Great War in 1918 did not inevitably lead to a European community based on respect and solidarity. It took many years, struggles and setbacks to shape the EU in the way we see it today – far from perfect, not free from crises, but an important means to secure lasting peace. In Lublin our Erasmus students presented a timeline they had made to illustrate historical milestones during the last 100 years. The German group from Goetheschule Essen focused on recent events, like the establishment of The European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the German Reunification, the introduction of the Euro, the Eastern Enlargement of the EU and the European migrant crisis.
