Ein Erasmus-Workshop für Lehrerinnen und Lehrer aus fünf Ländern findet online vom 18. bis 20. Mai 2021 statt. Die italienische Partnerschule der Goetheschule Essen, das Liceo e Fermi di Cecina, organisiert die Online-Fortbildung für Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer aus Dänemark, Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Italien und Zypern. Da Auslandsreisen aufgrund der Pandemie nicht möglich sind, wird eine Reihe von Videokonferenzen abgehalten, um einen internationalen Erfahrungsaustausch zu ermöglichen. Der Erasmus-Lehrerworkshop ist Teil des Projekts Post-factEUal. Transforming Europe from the 1930s to the Present und beschäftigt sich damit, wie digitale Medien den Unterricht verändern und wie man kritisches Denken und Argumentieren fördern kann in einer Zeit, in der es nicht immer leicht ist zwischen Fakten und Fake News, Nachrichten und Meinungen zu unterscheiden. Die italienischen Lehrerinnen und Lehrer werden unter anderem in die World Schools Debating Championship einführen, ein Wettbewerb für rhetorisch versierte Schüler-Teams in englischer Sprache, der ursprünglich aus Australien stammt und inzwischen rund um die Welt ausgetragen wird, zuletzt in Stuttgart (2016), Bali (2017), Zagrab (2018), Bangkok (2019) und Mexiko (Online 2020).
